One plan for your license, visas and next steps

A trade license on its own does not let you operate. A company needs a bank account, residence visas, tax registration and someone keeping it compliant afterwards.

  • The right place to start Your activity, ownership and visa needs decide whether mainland, free zone or offshore is correct. We map that before quoting, because the wrong structure is expensive to unwind later.
  • Your costs, made clear Every line itemised before you commit — license, government fees, visas, banking. Payment plans available so the cost can be spread rather than paid up front.
  • Support beyond setup Renewals, corporate tax, VAT and accounting sit with the same group, under the same account manager. Setup is the start of the relationship, not the end of it.

Business setup services in Dubai, from your first decision to your first renewal

6 things have to happen for a company to actually trade. We do all of them, so it does not become six separate relationships for you to manage.

  • Activity & jurisdiction advice

We match what you intend to do to the authority’s activity codes, and tell you which jurisdiction that points to — including when it is the cheaper one.

  • Setup proposal

A written costing with every line itemised, so you can compare ours against anyone else’s without guessing what is included.

  • Registration support

Name reservation, initial approval and license application filed, with the authority correspondence handled throughout.

  • Visa planning

Establishment card, immigration file, investor and employee visas, medical and Emirates ID — processed in-house.

  • Banking preparation

Your application prepared to the standard UAE banks expect, and introductions made to banks that accept your structure and activity. Account opening remains subject to the bank’s own review.

  • Ongoing business support

Annual renewals, corporate tax and VAT registration, accounting and day-to-day compliance once you are trading.

A useful quote starts with your actual plans

Your final figure depends on activity, visa count and premises. These are the honest starting points, and they are the same numbers your advisor works from.

Quoted individually

Starting prices, exclusive of government fees that vary by activity and visa count. Mainland pricing depends on activity and premises, so we quote it directly rather than publishing a figure that would mislead you. Every line is itemised in your written proposal before you commit.

A license-only figure is not the cost of getting operating

Whoever you end up using, these are the 3 things to separate before you compare quotes. A headline license price can leave out everything that has to happen after it.

  • 01

    License & registration scope

Which activities are actually listed, what the government fees are, and whether name reservation and initial approval are inside the figure or added later.

  • 02

    Visas & workspace

How many residence visas the package really allows, what each additional one costs, and whether the flexi-desk or premises requirement is included or billed separately.

  • 03

    Renewals & ongoing costs

What recurs annually and at what price — license renewal, workspace, visa renewals, corporate tax and accounting. First-year cost and running cost are rarely the same number.

Ask any consultant three questions: what is included, what is optional, and what renews. If the answer is not in writing before you pay, the comparison you are making is not a real one.

Your route forward, in four steps

You keep the same advisor from the first call through to renewal.

  1. Step 1

    Tell us your plans

20 minutes on your activity, ownership, visa count and where you want to bank. An advisor calls you, not a call centre.

  2. Step 2

    Review your options

We recommend the jurisdiction and structure that fits, and send a written proposal with every cost itemised.

  3. Step 3

    Prepare your application

Documents collected, name reserved, approvals filed. We handle the authority so you are not chasing a portal.

  4. Step 4

    Plan your launch

License issued, immigration file opened, visas processed, bank introduction made and tax registration completed.

Make the most of your first call

20 minutes goes a long way if you bring 3 things. Nothing needs to be final — rough answers are enough for us to point you at the right structure.

  • A short description of what you will sell and who your customers are
  • Roughly when you want to be trading
  • An estimate of how many people will need residence visas

You do not need every decision settled to start the conversation — that is what the call is for.

Meet the team behind your next chapter

Your business setup Dubai questions, answered

1. Is a consultation useful if I haven’t chosen a free zone yet?

Yes — that is the normal starting point. Begin with what your business actually does and where your customers will be, and the jurisdiction follows from that. Choosing a free zone first, then working backwards to see whether your activity fits it, is how people end up in the wrong structure. We are a partnered CSP across almost every UAE free zone, so the recommendation is based on your business rather than on whose license we are trying to sell.

2. How do I choose between business setup companies in Dubai?

Ask three things and insist on the answers in writing. First, what is actually included — whether government fees, name reservation and initial approval sit inside the quoted figure or get added later. Second, how many residence visas the package really allows and what each extra one costs. Third, what renews annually and at what price, because the first-year number and the running cost are rarely the same. Beyond that, ask whether the firm is tied to particular free zones. A consultant partnered with only two or three zones will recommend from those two or three. We are a partnered CSP across almost every zone in the UAE, which is why we can tell you when the cheapest option is the right one. If you are comparing business set up companies in Dubai on price alone, you are comparing numbers that were built differently.

3. Can I start a business in Dubai as a foreigner?

Yes, and for most activities you can own it outright. UAE law now permits 100% foreign ownership across the large majority of commercial activities on mainland, and free zones have always allowed it. You do not need to be resident before you begin — most free zone setups complete remotely and the license is often issued before you arrive. What you cannot do remotely is the residence visa itself: the medical fitness test and Emirates ID biometrics require you to be in the UAE in person. The practical sequence for someone starting a business in Dubai as a foreigner is to license the company first, then travel once for the visa stages.

4. How much does business setup in Dubai cost?

Free zone licenses start from AED 12,500 in Dubai and AED 9,999 in other emirates, and e-commerce licenses from AED 5,999. Your final figure depends on your activity, how many residence visas you need and whether you require physical premises. Mainland is quoted individually because premises costs vary widely. Payment plans are available, so the cost can be spread rather than paid up front.

5. How long does it take?

2–5 working days for most licenses once your documentation is complete, subject to setup type and approvals. Mainland takes longer, largely because of premises and Ejari. Residence visas add a further 1–2 weeks after the license is issued.

6. Do I need a local partner or sponsor?

Not for free zone companies, and not for most mainland activities either — UAE law now permits 100% foreign ownership across the large majority of commercial activities. A small number of strategic activities still require an Emirati partner. We confirm which applies to your activity on the first call.

7. Which structure is right for me?

It depends on who you sell to. If you need to trade directly with the UAE market, that points to mainland. If you are serving international clients or operating online, a free zone is usually the better economics. Offshore is for holding and structuring rather than trading. We make that recommendation before you spend anything.

8. Can I set up before I move to the UAE?

Yes. Most free zone setups complete remotely and the license can be issued before you arrive. You need to be in the UAE in person for the medical and Emirates ID stages of your residence visa.

9. Will I be able to open a bank account?

Bank onboarding is where most new companies stall, and it depends on your activity, your structure and how the file is presented. We prepare the application to the standard UAE banks expect and introduce you to banks that accept your profile. No consultant can guarantee a bank’s decision, and you should be wary of any who claims otherwise.

10. What documents do I need?

Passport copies for all shareholders, a business activity description, three proposed company names, and for LLC structures an MoA or shareholder agreement. An NOC is occasionally required. We tell you exactly what applies to your case on the first call.

11. What happens after the license is issued?

Your license renews annually, and depending on activity and turnover you may have corporate tax and VAT obligations. Your account manager stays with you through renewals, and tax and accounting sits with CZTA inside the same group.

Take the first step. We’ll help with what follows.

30 minutes with an advisor, free and with no obligation. You leave the call knowing which structure fits, what it costs and what happens next — in writing.
